ARAB NATIONS REJECTING BERNADOTTE’S PROPOSAL TO RECOGNISE ISRAEL STATE

(Rec. 9.45) LONDON, September 21. The late Count Bernadotte’s last report to U.N.O. took the existence of a Jewish State as an accomplished fact. The Tel’Aviv correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says: .“The Stern Gang, the Jewish terrorist organisation, which is believed to have been responsible for Count Bernadotte’s murder, was last night outlawed by the Israeli Government, and was declared an ‘illegal organisation.’ At the same time the Irgun Zvai Leumi, the other terrorist organisation was given an ultimatum to disband within 24 hours, and to hand over all its arms and equipment to the Jewish regular forces.” (Rec. 9.45) CAIRO, September 21. The Arab League Secretary-General, Azzam Pasha; said: “The Arab Nations have rejected Count Bernadotte’s report to the United Nations on Palestine.” Azzam Pasha said that Arab countries were “in accord regarding the measures that they will take to prevent evils plotted against Palestine.”
