WILL RED DEAN BE ADMITTED TO U.S.A.?
(Rec. 10.0). NEW YORK, Sept. 21. A Havard University Professor, Ralph Perry, announced that a committee of 93 prominent Americans were inviting the Dean of Canterbury (Dr. Johnston), to visit the United States. The State Department recently refused to allow the Dean a visa when he was invited to tour the country under the auspices of the National Council of American Soviet Friendship, which has been officially listed as the Communist “front.” Professor Perry said the committee of 93 was concerned at an “abridgement of the American tradition of free and open discussion involved in the Dean’s exclusion.” The committee includes some ieligious leaders, University heads, authors, and others, prominent in cultural
