STEEPLEJACKS IN DANGER

(Rec. 10.30). LONDON, Sept. 21. Crowds cheered the rescue of two steeplejacks overcome by fumes on top of a two hundred-feet chimney at Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. Workmen saw one of them swinging unconscious in the air. Five volunteers climbed the chimney , and found a second steeplejack sprawled across the lip of .the chimney with his foot caught in a clift of the brickwork which prevented him from falling. He had fastened a safety belt round his work-mate before losing consciousness.
