Is Western Offer of Trieste Empty ? LONDON, March 23. An Italian Foreign Office spokesman said Italy rejected Yugoslavia’s offer to exchange Trieste for Gorizia. A Yugoslav Government spokesman said that Yugoslavia would not ask for Gorizia in exchange for Trieste. He said the Yugoslav Foreign Minister, M- Simitch, in a statement yesterday, had merely expressed the Government’s readiness to negotiate. ITALIAN COLONIES A spokesman of the Italian Foreign Office stated that France had confirmed ‘‘in the most absolute manner”, her willingness to agree that Italy should administer the colonies of Eritrea, Somaliland and Libya. The spokesman said Russia had also stated her willingness to have the administration of the colonies revert to Italy.
