Rifle Shooting

Scoring was again consistently good when members of the Westport Defence Rifle Club fired off the third shoot of the third competition on < the Pakihi Range last week-end. Counting the six best out of ten, the position of club aggregates is as follows:— TT , , . Club Championship: L. Hutchison and J R. Keoghan, 595, R. F. Marshall 58S, D. Marr 585. Handicap Aggregate:—B. Flynn 601, J. J. Rossiter 600, J. Norris 099, D. Marr 599. The first competition was won by J. J. Rossiter, with B. H. Flynn second and D. Marr third. The second competition was won by L. Hutchison, with Messrs Keoghan and Rossiter to shoot off for second and third positions. The third competition was won by J. Norris and D. Turner (200) who are to shoot off for first and second, and G White and J. Hutchison are to shoot off for third place. This week-end ten members of the club will visit Nelson for the two-aay South Island Championship meeting, (conducted bv the Nelson District Rifle Association on the Thorndale Range. Matches will be fired from 300 to 900 yards ranges and competitors are expected from all parts ot the South Island.
