(Rec. 11.0) SYDNEY, Feb. 3 By defeating West Australia outright by 98 runs to-day, New South Wales is almost certain to win the Sheffield Shield. New South Wales forced the pace this morning, and closed its second innings twenty minutes before lunch at 200 for four wickets. This left West Australia to score 304 in 235 minutes for a win. Carmody batted well for 81, but after his dismissal the New South Wales bowlers were on top.
