GERMAN WHALING FLEET

FIFTY SHIPS GOING TO ANTARCTIC. [Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] BERLIN, September 21. A German whaling fleet of six motherships and 44 smaller vessels, is shortly going to the Antarctic, aiming to obtain 100,000 tons of oil, thrice above last year’s, and a quarter of the world’s annual production. The pride of the fleet, Walterrau, 22,000 tons, is capable of reducing 20 whalers daily into oil, cattle fodder, and tinned cutlets, for which there is increasing demand as food in uerf many.
