BRUNNER A v. BLACKBALL A. This game, which was played at Brunner yesterday, resulted in a win lor the visitors by 26 runs, after a keenly contested game. In their first innings, Blackball knocked up /5, Todd with 37 (not out) being the only .•no to reach double figures. For Brunner, Rothera took 1 for 5, Glen 2 for 29, Hughes 4 for 24 and Boustridgc e for .18. Brunner compiled 49 in their ■ nnings, Hughes (13) and Walton (15) being the best batsmen. Blackball’s oest trundlers were Todd with 3 for 1, Uluuan 3 for 16, and Hampson 2 for 8 Time expired before the completion of the second innings, Blackball having knocked up 80 runs for the loss of one wicket. SCHOOL CRICKET. The first match in the 1927 school cricket competition (Stenhouse Cup) iook place on Saturday at Dunollie between the Grey Main ami Runansa shools, the hitter proving the victors by an innings and one run. lor Runait' ga, Beal scored 6 runs, while with the ball Masters and Kennedy took the honours. The Main School’s best I owlcr was Orr and tho best 'batter Boyes (twelve). SCHOOL- GAMES. On the Recreation Ground yesterday, Cobden School played a very enjoyable name with Marist School. The contest was a very even one and at some stages very exciting. For Cobden, Eggleton with 15 and Barbara 13, were niainlv instrumental in compiling the total of 55. Marist replied with 75 for nine wickets, Preston 20, Mac Diarmid 13 and E. Lord 12 being the chief contributors. E. Lord captured six wick<ets for Marists, De Freatus two, ami Hay one. On Tuesday afternoon a match was . staged at the Main School Ground be- ; tween the juvenile representatives of , the Main and Marist Schools. Marist ; won the toss and elected to send Main ( in first. Marist ultimately came out ; the winners. Main School in the first ( innings made 37, and in the second ■.linings 22, the chief scorers; being Goodall 14 and 9, Kedie 9, Minehin 7. and Haglund 8. Bowling for Marist Knowles took tour wickets, Bellamy' five and Cleave: four. Marist in tho first innings made >7 and in the second innings 22, the chief scorers being those of McDonnell 15, Bellamy 11, Carmody 10 and Brown 9.
