SUICIDE EPIDEMIC.
Among Students. IN U.S.A. COLLEGES. (Received February 15 at 9.30 p.m.) NEW Y’ORK, February’ 14. An epidemic of suicides among the young students of universities and high schools has taken place during the past eight weeks. D has shocked the nation. This series of tragedies came to a head yesterday, when a young collego man shot himself, after leaving a despondent note, ami to-day when three High School students committed self murder, making a total of eleven in iwo months. Several of these were members of prominent families, and were living in comfortable circumstances. One left a note saying that he was joing on a glorious adventure. Another said that he believed he would become a burden. A third wrote that he feared ho would lose his mind. A fourth destroyed himself after imateur theatricals in the school auditorium, where he had been received \ith great applause.
