I ANGLO AUSTRALIAN PRESS TBLBGRAFH AGENCY.] Wellington, Nov. 29. There was a splendid and exciting game of criket to-day. The weather was magniticeut. There were 1000 people on the ground. Wellington, in the first innings, was put out for 35 ; Auckland, in the first innings, was put out for 53, much astonished at the way it was done. , Welington, in the second innings, by splendid play, bothered the Auckland bowlers, and made 120 runs. Auckland played carefully in the Becond ianings, arid finally won with three wickets to fall. Betting varied during the day from 7 to 1 against Wellington, to even to lat one time. A dinner is given to the cricketers to-night. The Tapscott prisoners were released to-day. The painters are determined to strike after to-night ; 2a per day extra is demanded. I Master, builders are considering the demands of their men in a conciliatory spirit. The Indepeiidetit advises the Nelson people to elect Curtis instead of O'ConOr. Nelson, Nov. 28. Five thousand people visited the Exhibition yesterday, and it was crowded to-day. Mr Browning and Mr James of Hokitika secured the first and second prizes for pen and ink sketches. Invercargill, Nov. 29. The twenty-two Welsh miners who arrived here to-day .were immediately engaged to proceed to Winton. The demand for carpenters still continues. Their wages are now los a day.
