mo SERVE MARES THIS SEASON The Fare Bred Clydesdale Stallion YO UN, ; G. XDjOJJG LAS, By Sir " Colin Canpbell," out of "Blossom," dam "Violet," a thorough-bred Clydesdale imported to Tasmania. "Young Douglas" is a dark bay with black points, three years old, and stand 164 hands, with tremendous bone and . substance, good ' action ' and fine mild temper. PBDiGK^E^---"Sir 'Coliu Campbell" was got by the well-known horse ' 'King.Fergus," out of the celebrated Mare "Scotland's Pride." " King FergUß"»was got by " Lord Byron," the property of. Mr'Proudfoot, Dumfrieshire, who gained the prize of £40 at Annan, when 4 years old. "Lord Byron" was got by " Old Prince Loyal," who gained the first prize at Aberdeen, and also at John* ston. "King Fergus" was bred by Mr Muir, Kircudbrightßhire,/out: of his prize mare, which was bred by Mr Frame, ClydeBide. "King Fergus" gained seven first prizes in IS6O, and he had the first prize as being the best animal of the horse-kind at ■ the great show at Hamilton. "Scotland's Pride" waß got by the celebrated Clydesdale horse "Lofty," out of the well-known Smithston stock. "Lofty" was the property of Mr Samuel Clark, and gained the premium at Glasgow, open to all Scotland. "Scotland's Pride" gained the premium of the Highland Society's Show in 1861, aa a three year old. She has also gained five first prizes in Canterbury. -^"Young^DougVas" will stand at Mrjas. Marshall's Stables, Totara Flat, every Saturday,; and at Mr John .
