rpo SERVE MARES THIS SEASON The Pure Bred Clydesdale Stallion YOUNG DOUGLAS, By Sir " Colin Canpbell," out of "Blossom," dam " Violet," a thorough-bred Clydesdale imported to Tasmania. "Young Douglas"is a dark bay with black points, three years old, and stand 164 hands, with tremendous bone and substance, good action and fine mild temper. j P.EDIGREF.— "Sir Colin Campbell" was got by the well-known horse "King Fergus," out of the celebrated Mare "Scotland's Pride." " King Fergus" was got by " Lord Byron," the property of Mr Proudfoot, Dutnfrieshire, who gained the prize of £40 at Annan, when 4 years old. "Lord Byron" was got by "Old Prince Loyal," who gained the first prize at Aberdeen, and also at Johnston. "King Fergus" was bred by Mr Muir, Kircudbrightshire, out of his prize mare, which was bred by Mr Frame, Clydeside. "King Fergus" gained seven first prizes in 1S61), and he had the first prize as being the best animal of the horse-kind at the great show at Hamilton. " Scotland's Pride" was got by the celebrated Clydesdale horse "Lofty," out of the well-known Smithsfcon stock. "Lofty" was the property of Mr Samuel Clark, and gained the premium at Glasgow, open to all Scotland. "Scotland's Pride" gained the premium of the Highland Society's Show in 1861, as a three year old. She has also gained five first prizes in Canterbury. "Young Douglas" will stand at Mr Jas. Marshall's Stables, Totara Flat, every Saturday j and at Mr John Reid's Station, neat Ahaura, during the rest of the week. Terms— Four; Guineas per Mare, payable on Ist January, 1874.
