Smiler was got by Prince, a pure Suffolk horse, imported by Mr Ford, from whom he was purchased, out of a remarkably fine mare, got. by Czar, a Clydesdale horse, imported from Scotland,, by the : late Mr Scott. The breed on dams side, were originally trim a mare got by Clydesdale Ben, a fine imported Clydesdale to, Sydney: about twenty years ago, and has been crossed by none but imported Clydesdales, with the exception of Prince.
