In the House to-day, the Minister of Works said that the stoppage of the Onehunga Railway Works did not affect the Government. Mr Brogden ' was answerable for the delay caused by his sub-contractor.
The Minister of Works also aaid that the Government decided, on the recommendation of the Engineer, on Mussel Bay, near Port Chalmers, as a site for the Otago Railway workshops. Mr Reynolds said Government intended to construct a Portland lighthouse. '-' The Prisoners Bill was committed.
