Good quantities are in demand at 4s 6d, and. we heard of 4s 7d being offered 1 at Kaiapoi. Oats, in consequence of thtir reduction in value in the Melbourne market by nearly a shilling a bushel, as per latest advices, are somewhat easier in the local market, and exportation to, Melbourne has ceased for the time beings We stiirquote at 4s 3d to .4s, 6d, the latter being for extra, fine millingqualities. In locally grown : barley there have been no transactions. In the yahie of bacon and hams there is no change, and the demand still' continues good; Prices, 8d to 9d, according to size, and to whether it is packed in cloth or not. ■ S< butter fetches readily IB per lb ; and at that figure Btooks continue
low.
