The following. is the twenty-third Report of the Directors of the Bank of New Zealand to the half-yearly general meeting of the proprietors, held at the Banking House, Auckland, on Thursday, the 24th April, 1873 :— The operations of the past half-year enable the Directors to lay the following result before the shareholders s— The net profit at 31st March, after making full provision for all debts known to be bad or doubtful, and for usual appropriations in reduction of Bank premises and furniture accounts, amounts to L 37,293 18s 6d ; to which has to be added— oalance of undivided profit at 30th September, 1872, LBB6O os, making a total available for division, of L 46.154 3s 6d ; the following appropriati&n of which is now recommended : To payment of dividend at the rate of 10 per cent, per annum, L3l),000 ; to bonus of 2a 6d per share, equal to 24 per cent, per annum, L 750 0; to balance carried to Profit aud Loss new account, L 5654 3s 6d. Total, L 46.154 3s 6d.
