Sydney, April 25. Parliament was prorogued yesterday by the Governor. In his speech he states that the authority for making the Californian mail contract given by the Assembly will be acted on without delay, notwithstanding its rejection by the Council. The motion for the address for payment of members was formally expunged from the records of the Council. Mr Cowper, Agent-General, telegraphs that no answer has yet been received from Earl Kimberley with regard to the mail terminus.
