The successful tenderer not having taken up his contract, FRESH TENDERS are invited by tbe Colonial Government for the CONSTRUCTION of about Two Miles aud a Half of DRAY ROAD, being part {of proposed road from Greymouth to Marsden. Plans and specification are to be seen at the District Engineer's Oflicea, Greymouth and Hokitika, and tenders addressed to District Engineer and labelled " Tender for Section 01 Greymouth aud Marsden Road," will be received at the latter place up to 4 p.m. on Monday, 28th April, 1873. ISSUE OP £250,000 NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT DEBENTJRES IN NEW ZEALAND. Treasury, Wellington, Bth April, 1873. TENDERS are invited for the purchase of tbe whole or any portion of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds New Zealand Government Debentures, issued under the Acts of the Legislature of tbe Colony, entitled " The Immigration and Public Works Loan Act, 1870," and "The Defence and Other Purposes Loan Act, 1870," subject to the under-mentioned conditions : — 1. The Debentures will be payable to Bearer and will be issued in sums of not less than One Hundred Pounds each. 2. The Debentures, which are secured on the Consolidated Revenue of the Colony, will bear interest at the rate of 4percent. per annum, payable half yearly, on the 15th day of April and the loth day of October in each year, at the Bank of New Zealand at Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, Nelson, Blenheim, Christcburcb, Greymoutb, Hokitika, Dunedin, or Invercargill. 3. The principal sum will be payable on the 15ch day of April, 1913, at the Treasury at Wellington, or at any Branch of the Bank of New Zealand, in New Zealand, at the option of the holder, six months' notice being required, previous to maturity, of the place at which payment will be required. Tenders will be opened at the Treasury at Wellington at noon on Friday, the ninth day of May next, in the presence of such of the tenderers as desire to bo present— tbe minimum price under seal being first placed on the table. In the event of equal tenders being received for a sum in excess of the issue, a xrro rata distribution will be made. 5. The amount tendered for must be paid at the Treasury at Wellington, as under:— 5 percent, accompanying application f the balance on or before the 16th May, 1873, Or at the option of the purchasers :— 5 per cent, on application. 20 per cent, in one month, ] 25 per cent, in two months, f with accrued 25 per cent, in three months, I interest. 25 per cent, in four months, ; * Purchasers electing to pay balance within a week will be entitled to interest from the 15th day of April. On payment of the final instalment. Debentures signed by the Agents appointed under the respective Acts, will be delivered to purchasers or their nominees. Half per cent, brokerage will be allowed to brokers through whose applications sales are effected. Applications by telegraph, received not later than 10 o'clock on the 9th May, will be accepted, provided they are accompanied by a telegram from the Manager of any Branch or Agency of the Bank of JNew Zealand, notifying that the necessary deposit has been paid into the Bank of Mew Zealand, to the credit of a Loan Deposit Account. In submitting the above-named property for sale, the character and prospects of the Company being so fully known, no comment is needed beyond a reference to the fact of Scrip having recently changed hands in it at a premium of £10, and also that the value of the Company's Stock and Property was, on the 3 1st December last, estimated at €12,500, since which a considerable amount of permanent work has been effected on the claia\ and a number of additional and valuable rights acquired.
