The steamer Charles Edward arrived in port early on Saturday moraine, discharged cargo, loaded coals, and sailed in. the evening for Hokitika. The one other arrival was the schooner Kaiuma. She had discharged a <sargo of East Coast produce at Hokitika, and sailed for this port in ballast, for the purpose of loading coal. She is the first vessel to take advantage of the reduced rate of towage, and, during the present dearth of coal w other places, she is not likely to be the last.
