[FROM OtTlt OWtf CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, August 26. On Mr Macandrew's Steam Service Resolutions being reported to the House, Mr Hall moved an amendment authorising the Government, on the termination of the existing contract, to enter into a new one for an efficient service, at a cost not exceeding forty thousand pounds per annum, and, if possible, in concert with the American and Australian Governments. After a debate this was negatived, and the original resolutions carried by 30 to 16.
