New Yokk, July 9. The National day was celebrated as usual. St. John's Episcopal Church in Buffalo, N.Y., was burned on the night of the 4th, by the explosion of a sky-rocket in the steeple. The New Legislatures of Georgia, Lousiana, and South Carolina have completed their organisation. Charles Francis Adams, late "Minister to England, arrived in this city last night by the steamer China. In the House of Representatives, on the 7th, Thad. Stevens presented additional articles of impeachment against the President, charging him with abuse of patronage of his office, erecting State Governments in conquered territories, restoring forfeited property, and other crimes. Mr Stevens made a long speech in support of them, and then, at his suggestion, they were postponed for two weeks. Mr Williams, of Pennsylvania, also presented additional articles of impeachment. The new Tammany Hall was dedicated on the 3rd inst., and after dedicatory services, was thrown open for the reception of the Democratic National Convention. The Convention was called to order by Augustus Belmont, Esq. After the appointment of Committees to prepare for regular business, the Convention adjourned until Monday, the 6th inst., at ten o'clock a.m. The candidates spoken of are Geo. H. Pendleton, Gen. W. S. Hancock, Frank Blair, and Chief Justice Salmon P. Chase, Hendrick Johnson, and M'Clellan. There is great excitement about these proceedings. The case of the United States v. Annan Brothers, bqildera of Confederate ironclads, commenced on July 1. Berryer opened for the United States ; the Ad-vocate-General will reply on the Sth.
