Although the wondertui panoramas \ that arc seen from the famous Motu road wih be missing on the new route, the fact that the road winds along tho river bank tor practically tho whole distance makes tho M aio. eka route most attractive.
r rom a scenic point ot view there will bo very little to choose Between the two routes, and thoso travelling from the. Bay of Plenty to Gisborne and making the return trip will have the opportunity of travelling over both routes during the journey.

The number of shut-downs for the two months totalled 4, amounting to 4 Lours, 51 minutes; two were prearranged, amounting to oGmin. Maximum K.V.A. for the quarter. 1302.
