WOOL MARKET
CO-OPERATION MOVEMENT A BRADFORD' OFFER . United Press Assn, by El. Tel. Copyright LONDON, Feb. 12. Mr Maurice Durrelle’s suggestion for the organisation of the wool industry was favorably received in Bradford. It has long been felt that the Wool Federation has not been working so completely as it might do if Dominion wool growers were represented at yearly conferences. Tho secretary points out that countries wishing to join must apply. CHRISTCHURCH SALE 1 )EMAND MAINTAINED (Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. Fob. 13. ' The third Christchurch wool sale of the season concluded yesterday. The improvement in the market recorded on Tuesday was fully maintained and all good classes of fine halfbred and crossbred were kept at a level of about one halfpenny per lb., above the rates recorded at Timaru, whilst medium grades and pieces maintained the best of Tiuiaru values, with a hardening tendency. Another satisfactory feature was that wool was sought after by a larger buying circle. There was greatly increased activity on the part of Bradford, while America and Australia wore also prominent, but French buying was much reduced, and German operations . were also less noticeable. ’Hie top price of the sale was 133 d for ten hales of Corriedale e.a.o. Glenafric brand. Eight bales of Lamrnemoor Corriedalo made 13£d, and l.’J of White Rock, mainly Corriedale the same. The best lia-lfbred price was 13Id for six bales of Thorndale over GB.
