The committee of the Gisborne Swimming Club met on Wednesday night; present, Messrs E. T. Lim-m----(in the chair) C. E. Brown, T. Wiiucliop, A. \\ . Mason and D. X. sillier (bon. sec.) Matters in connection with the representative team tor the Hawke's my championships were finalised, Mr. H. AY. McKeague being appointed manager. it was decided that the next earn, ival be held on Tuesday, Eebruary 2d, laud the . following, programme: was adopted: 440yds McGerty Cup Handicap. 50yds scratch race. 100 yards intermediate handicap. 60 2-3 yards . boys’ handicap. 33 l-3yds. ; ladies’ handicap. -50yds. open handicap. Open dive, novelty event. 33 l-3yds ladies’ backstroke handicap. 33 l-3yds intermediate breast-stroke handicap. lOt/yds relay handicap. Water polo. 11 AW,HE'S BAY CHAMPIONSHIPS. GISBORNE CLUB'S TEAM. The Swain Memorial Cup team, chosen ;to 'represent the Gisborne Amateur Surf and Swimming Club at the Hawke's Bay provincial championships, lo be held in Xapicr on Monday and Tuesday next, will he one of the strongest that has left, this district, and it. is considered to be ou a standard, if. not better, than, the Hawke’s Bay team. Last year, the club won the 50yds men's championship with R. .Bichardsou,; who also annexed the 100yds title, while H. AY. McKeague won the 220yds men's championship. The absence of .Richardson this season in the sprint section will mean a lug loss to tile club, though the club will have a worthy representatives in J. Crawford, It. Colebourne, and D. \V. McKeague, all of whom may, be lolied upon to give sound per-; formanees in the 50yds ami 100yds.' races. The selector (Mr. Crown) announces the teams as follow: Swain Memorial Cup: 1). W.
