, As ti's usual at those/.popular funoi tious, the High School baths were crowded last evening on the occas-i ion of the Gisborne Surf and Swim-, lning Club’s carnival. Pera ■ was the only entrant to! face the starter' in ’ the 50 yards: boys’ intermediate handicap. .He swam, the distance in record time. : As a whole the entries were good, but scratcliings were not infrequent, reducing some of-the fields to poor figures.
