Wellington Markets.
Messrs John Holmes and Co., nnder date 18th December, report as follows .'— Wool.— Tbe wool market at Home still continues firm at the advanced rates lately announced, and a still further improvement bas taken place amongst greasy sorts. Hides.— Market values unchanged on last quotations, all parcels finding ready sale that come to hand. Sheepskins. — Quotations unchanged on previous rates, supplies being rather plentiful, but with brisk demand. But- ' chers' green, 4s 9d to 5s 6d ; medium to good, 3s 9d to 4s 3d. Tallow. — Market inactive, with only small supply offering. We repeat last quotations. Prime mutton, £15 to £15 10s ; medium, £14 to £14 10s ; inferior, £12 to £13. Wheat.— Market somewhat easier, bnt only limited quantity offering. We quote for whole fowls wheat, 4s Id to 4s 3d, ex store, sacks extra. Oats. — Values have hardened, and with fair demand. Prime stout feed is worth 2s 5d to 2s 7d, ex store, sks extra. Barley. — Not much easiness is doing in this line, although prices have not advanced in proportion to other lines. Good feed barley fetched 2s 6d to 2s 9d, sacks extra. Chaff.— Market hardening, with upward tendency. We quote : 65s to 70s, c.i.f. Wellington, sacks extra.
