56 PRISONERS SUFFOCATED. (Per Press Association.) Sydney, This Day. News by the Meumuir reports that severe fighting took place at Manilla last month- The Spaniards captured 200 rebels and imprisoned them in aa old disused powder magazine. During tbe night a heavy shower of rain came on, and the sentinel closed a large ventilator in the roof. The relieving sentinel neglected to re-open it, and 56 prisoners were asphyxiated.
