RONGOTEA v. FEILDING. I TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — The Rongotea Club would like to draw tbe attention of the Feilding Club to their very uncourteous conduct in not putting in an appearance on the Rongotea ground, on Saturday, to play i tbe nrranged Cap match. This Club went to considerable trouble to prepare a pitch for the Feildiug team so that they would have as good a grouDd to play on as tbe Feilding ground. ] Three of our team had to get men to take tbeir places in shearing sheds, and were put to considerable expense ; and then we received word, at 11.45 a.m., that the Feiiding Club could not get a team, you can judge of the disappointment and disgust experienced. Tbe ladies of Rongotea take great interest in cricket, and do the catering for the Club. They had provided dinner and afternoon tea, etc., and, very natu- j rally, were disappointed at the non- < appearance of the Feilding team. ' The Feilding Club boasts of from 60 to 70 members, and yet on a perfect cricketing day cannot get 11 plryers to j go and represent them in a Cup match. Such want of enthusiasm is a disgrace ' to the Club, and such uncourteous behaviour is the very thing to " kill " J cricket in other districts. We are perfectly satisfied that the Feilding Secretary did all he could togetateam away, and do not include him in any remarks made about the Club. Rongotea Club.
