Mr Pirani at Spur Road.

There was a capital attendance at the Spur Road School on Monday night when Mr Pirani delivered & political address. Mr Alex. Conway who was voted to the chair, said that three years ago he would not have taken that position for Mr Pirani as he was a thorough Conservative bat when there were two candidates with nuch widely different qualifications as Messrs Pirani and Bnick, it was their duty to sink party differences, and vote for the man wbo bad fearlessly and honestly done bis duty in Parliament in preference to one who would never be a success there. Therefore he intended to vote for Mr Pirani, and he advised all those who bad the true interests cf the settlers at heart to vole against Mr Buiek. At the conclusion of Mr Pimm's speech a hearty vote of thanks and confidence was carried unanimously, everyone in the room voting for it. - Standard.
