Many measures of the Government had his support, but be strongly condemned their administration and borrowing. He had a splendid reception, and at the close a vote of thanks for his address and confidence was passed with only two dissentients amid a scene of great enthusiasm. Christchurch, Nov. 18. Mr W. Cullen, a Labour candidate for the city, addressed a meeting to-night. He supported the Government, and was opposed to Prohibition. He received a vote of thanks and confidence. Winton, November 18. Mr Ward delivered a political address at Winton to-night to an enthusiastic audience. He made an admirable defence of the Government policy, and refuted the attacks of Messrs Cowan and Richardson upon members of the Ministry and himself occupying positions on public companies. Mr Ward spoke for nearly three hours, and had a most enthusiastic meeting. He was loudly and longly cheered on closing. Ashbukton, Nov. 18. Mr Maslin, candidute for Aahburton, addressed a meeting here to-night. He gave the most effective defence of the Government yet heard in Ashbnrton.
