Cycling News.

O A road race in connection with the Feilding Cycling Club was held yesterday afternoon. The course was from tbe Kiwitea stream to Manchester Square, a distance of about If miles. The weather was not very favorable, there being a strong wind blowing. Only I four competitors faced tho starter, but notwithstanding this a considerable amount of interest was evinced in the race, the conclusion of which was witdessed by a large number of spectators, in addition to the numerous groups which watched tho progress of the race down Kimbolton road. The riders finished well to gether for a road race, the result being as follows :— A. J. Gould, 375 yds 1 J. H. Mingins, scr. ... ... 2 H. W. Giesen. 400 yds 3 P. Morphy, 300 yds 4 Gould finished about 30 yards in front of Mingins, who was riding fairly strong and reducing the gap, the same distance separating the second and third men, Morphy beinp about five yards behind Giesen. The race was for a handsome silver medal kindly presented by Mr Jas. Scott and a sweepstake amounting to teu shilling. The committee of the Feilding Cycling Club will meet this evening to arrange a programme in connection with the annual race meeting to be held on January 22. A lantern parade of F.C.C. riders will be held on Tuesday evening.
