♦ - (Per Press Association.) Wellington, This Day. The criminal sittings of the Supreme Court opened this morning before the Chief Justice. The calendar contains tbe names of 22 persons charged with 19 offences. n , _ In his address to the Grand Jury Judge Prendergast reviewed at considerable length evidence in tbe Petone murder case and showed a leaning towards the probability of the innocence of Jas. Shore, tbe youug man who was committed for trial on the capital charge.
