o The above sports were held yesterday and proved very successful, about 1800 persons being present. The courteous and energetic secretary, Mr W. H. Collingwood, deserves to be complimented on the success of his efforts to make tbe sports popular. Following are the results of the principal events : — 120 Yards Flat.— T. Clark, i ; D. M. Gill, 2 ; J. McNab. 3. Time 13 sees. Bicycle race, 1 Mile. — W. Noonan, 1 ; W. H Lewis, 2 ; C. Burton 3. Time 2min 45 sees. Two Miles Walk.— A. Coleman, 1 ; T. W. Leslie, 2. Time 17 minutes. 220 Yards Flat.-D. M. Gill, 1; T. Clark, 2 ; R. A. Gilchrist, 3. 22 5 sees. Mile Race.— S. McDowell, 1; H. C. Moore, 2 ; F. Wyeth, 3. Time, 5 mins 10 2-5 sees. Bicycle Race, Two Miles : C. Burton, 1 ; P. Osgood, 2 ; W. H. Lewis, 3. Time 7 inins. Half Mile.— S. Haines, 1 ; F. Mullin, 2 ; F. E. Wyeth, 3. Time 2 mins 19 sees. High Jump. — F. Ansley, 1. Hurdles, 220 Yards.— J. E. Power, 1 ; H.C. Moore, 2; P.Dixon, 3. Time 29 sees. 440 Yards Flat.— J. E. Power, 1; D. M. Gill, 2 j G. Wareham. 3. Time 61 sees.
At the Wellington Sports yesterday, in the cycling events, F. Hunt won the three mile first class scratch race, the five, two, and one mile Handicap races and second to Barker in the five mile scratch record race.
