(Per Press Association.) London, October 21. A German capitalist has made a proposal to Mr W. P. Reeves, Agent General, respecting the growth and making of beet suyar. The proposal has been forwarded to the Premier of the colony. The American visible supply of wheat is 79,300,000 bushels. M ediutn quality beef tallow is quoted at 18s. Lord Eosebery has authorised the diaentaihnent of his Scottish estates. The advance in wheat has ceased and there is a pause in the excitement in Europe and small decline on red American wheat for future delivery. Wheat has fallen four cents in New York. The last words of the Archbishop of Canterbury, written a day before his death, disclose the Anglican orders to be identical with those of the Roman Catholic Church, except in regard to subjectiou to the Pope. The shareholders of the N.Z. Midland Railway Company have requested the Receiver to raise sufficient mouey to pay the colonirtl Government, and proceed with the directors' scheme for carrying on the works, so as to prevent foreclosure.
