A Snake Story.
I Per Press Association. I Sydney, October 18. The return of summer generally brings a snake story or two. About one of the best comes from the Glen Innes district. It appears that a married aboriginal was suckling a young baby during one night last week, and awoke to find instead of her infant a large black snake attached to one of her breasts, regaling itself. The woman awoke her husband in a great fright, and while doing so the snake disappeared. Search was made, and the reptile discovered and shot. Mr James Wood has new potatoes and oranges at his auction mart. Mr G. H. Saywell has for sale a dray and a Whitecbapel cart. See our wanted column. The Agricultural Show takes place athe end of this month. Ladies in want of new Dresses and Hats for the occat sion should visit the Bon Marche", Feilding, where they will see one of the largest and finest selections of Dress Materials and Millinery ever shown in the district. There is also first-class Dressmaking done on the premises. John Cobbe has made most extensive preparations for the coming season's business, up to the present he has received 61 cases and bales, direct from London, whilst other shipments are on the way. He has also secured the services of a milliner who has had a number of years experience with Messrs Milne and Choyce, who do the most fashionable millinery business in Auckland. His dressmaking department is gaining a high reputation for the style and fit of the articles turned out. How to be happy though married. This is the cry of many in this pessimistic age. Try Royal Terra Cotta Hearth Powder and all homes will be happy and smiling.
