(Per Press Association.) Melbourne, October 18. At the V.A.T.U. Meeting, the attendanco was equally as large as any Cup Meeting. Results : — Caultield Cup, l£ miles— Cremorne 1, Straightfire 2, Le Var 3. Tellu3 was the only horse scratched. Betting— 4 to 1 Hopscotch, 8 to 1 Resolute, 12 to 1 Straightfire and Duhallow, 13 to 1 Reka, 16 to 1 Excel and Damien, 29 to 1 Disfigured, 33 to 1 Cremorne. Won by half a head. Le Var half a length away. Time, 2min 38£ sec. Steeplechase -Larnook 1, Wheernside 2, Campaspe 3. Ten others started. Betting — 8 to 1 Larnook. Mail Boat fell. Won by six lengths. Time, 4min 50isoc. Waterloo broke Ins near hind fetlock and was subsequently destroyed. (Per Press Association) London, Oct 17. The Middle Park Plato resulted as follows : — Gal tee More 1, Velasquez 2, Wreath Or 3.
