A requisition is to be presented next week at Onehunga to Sir Maurice O'Rorke when he will address his constituents and decide his future course. Three more informations have been laid against Santa Solomon. In consequence he has not been released on bail. \t 4 a.m. a fire occurred at Berlin's, confectioner. The damage was LIOO. The building was insured for L2lO in Norwich. Miss Bergin who was alone in the house, was assisted out the upstairs window by the police. An old man named Opra, is missing from Henderson. Moss, late manager of the Manchester Insurance Company, who had been arrested in Melbourne, was charged with obtaining L3O by false pretenses. The case was remanded till Friday to obtain the attendance of a witness from Christchurch. Percy Laing, three years old, died at Clinton yesterday, from a shock the result of a scald. < Napier, This Day. The breakwater strike is ended. The j men recommenced work this morning, the contractors having acceded to the terms of 8s per day. "Wellington, This Day.
