The Pohangina Council and Mr Piram.
The following resolution, on the motion of Cr Wagstaff and seconded by Or Vicary, was unanimously earned at the meeting of the Pohangina County ConnSTbeld yesterday :-" That this Council place on record its appreciation and thanks for the assistance rendered by Mr Pirani, M.H R., in promoting the wel fare of the county in his position as a member of the House of Representatives, and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to him." Cr Wagstaff, in moving the motion, spoke in eulogistic terms of the energy displayed by Mr F. Piraniinbis endeavors to further the interests of the country. Out of fourteen votes on the estimates for works within the Palmerstou electorate no less than seven were for works within tne Pouaocina County, four of the items totalling about J4OOO. Cr Vicary spoke in flatterings terms of the g^™* rendered to the county by Mr Pirani and the chairman <Mr Dicken) endorsed the remarks of the Councillors that it was desirable that the thanks of the Council should be placed on record.
