Bangawahia Notes.
The weather of late has been exceedingly cold and therefore there has been Tery little growth in the grass or garden seeds yet The Ruahine ranges are now more thtckly covered with snow than they have been during the whole winter. However, there is every ap* pearance of a change to finer weather. Lambing and docking are over and from what I hear the percentages have been very fair. All classes of sheep are in good condition and a good clip is promised. The 1.0. G.T. held its nsnal weekly meeting last Saturday evening when there was a fair attendance. Daring the evening surprise refreshments were provided most generously by Sisters E. C Moffatt and M. Clark, to whom a most hearty vote of thanks was accorded. It was decided to hold the annual picnic on Boxing Day, Dec. 26, and that the Ruahine lodge as a body be invited to it. A subscription list »s m circnlation nnder the management of Mr S. Mofiatt and Mrs Moffatt for the purpose of raising funds to assist Mr C. Henson in setting medical attendance. For some years past Mr Henson's sight has been gradually failing and he has been voder medical treatment for months without satisfactory results. The Indian doctor at Marton has now undertaken to cure him and he (Mr Henson) is now under that doctor's treatment. The subscriptions which are to defray the expenses, are coming in rapidly. The promoters will be glad to receive donations from persons who have not yet subscribed.
