Messrs Abraham and Williams report:— At Pahiatua on Tuesday cattle were in moderate supply. Prices generally were below vendors' figures and only a small amount of business resulted. Yesterday at Palmerston cattle were numerons. The quality of the store steers was from medium downwards, and as such did not generally commend themselves to buyers. Cow beef sold briskly at an advance of 103 per head over last week'? rates. Sheep in moderate supply, the bulk being shorn fats ; hoggets and stores dull of sale, though all disposed of. Pahiatua— Fat wethers, 13s 6d ; hoggets, 7s 3d; fat cow, JE4; springing heifers, £3 17s 6d to £4 17s 6d ; others, £2 10s ; ltf-month heifers, 30s. Palmerston — Shorn fat ewes, 6s 6d to 7s 2d ; fat ewes and wethers, 3s 3d ; empty ewes, 6s to 7s; store wethers, 10s 9d ; hoggeta, 7s 3d ; 3 and 4-year bullocks, £4 14s; 2£-year steers, £S 15s ; empty heifers, £3 ; springers, £3 to £4 ; weaners, 255 ; fat cows, <£4 10s to U 13s.
