Wanganui Education Board.
The following is the continuation of the business :— Ongo Road — From Miss M. Cooper, stating she had been selected as teacher during Miss Bay's absence. Pohangina — From committee, object* ing to the removal of the teacher ; it was resolved to comply with the request, but to express the hope that there would be a decided improvement at next examination. Upper Pohangina — £15 granted to* wards building on Mr Fraser's property. Marton — Signall and Cobham's tender for the Marton school residence, at £844, was accepted. High School — It was decided to inform the College street Committee that in the present state of the Board's finances, and pending the result of an application to Government re secondary education reserves, no steps could be taken to establish high schools at Hawera and Palmerston North. Feilding. — Tenders for additions to be invited, after Inspector's approval obtained. Taikorea— Fresh tenders to be called for school building. It was resolved to allow T. Rolling to exchange from Earere to Apiti, and O'Reilly from Apiti to Earere. It was resolved that a circular be sent to all teachers where females are employed requiring that sewing be continuously taught. It was decided to hold the next meet* on 2nd November. — Standard.
