Wanganui Education Board.
o The above Board met at Wanganui yesterday. Present — Messrs Carson (chairman), Sanson, Robbins, Fry, F. Piraui, Ross, Hurley, and Lethbridge. Carnarvon. — Miss Goodland appointed head- teacher. Manga weka. — Mr Tompkins appointed head- teacher. Ongo Road,— Miss M. Cooper accept ing the teachership if the Pohangina committee's request is complied with. Hiwinui. — Mr Jas. Watts appointed pupil teacher. Ashurst. — Mr W. J. Andrew granted leave to attend the examination of pupil teachers. Miss Lelia Mossman was transferred to Crofton and Mr Plrnest Jarvis to Mangaweka ; Mr John O'Reilly and Thurston Kelly were allowed to exchange between Apiti and Longburn. Cadets. — Rongotea, Miss Hedvig West ; Apiti, Miss Jessie Rae ; Halcombe, Mr Fred. Clapham. Mr Sanson gave notice that the age for the junior scholarship competitors be 13£ years and for seniors 15£ years, permanently. On Mr Pirau's motion, it was decided fco pay teachers for instruction to pupil teachers half-yearly — namely, before Christmas holidays and as soon after June 30 as convenient. Carnarvon.— lt was decided to inform the Committee the Board will build a school to accommodate 40 so as to be sasily enlarged. Hiwinui. — The carpenter to enlarge '' „s soon as possible. Upper Taonui and West Waitapu. — Sets of drawing models to be supplied.
