Cricket News.

In reference to the suggestion of the Manawatu Cricket Association that in choosing the team to represent Wellington against tho Australians the men should be chosen as widely as possible so as to give country unions representation if their men were good enough, the following telegram has been received by Mr Tompkins, the secretary : — " Can you arrange match November 9th in Wellington against Wellington : selection committee can then judge of your form." The secretary informs us that if players support the proposal heartily, there would be very little difficulty in getting up the match, and of course, any player who showed up well would have a chance of being put in the team to play against Australia.
