THE NEW FOOTBALL GROUND.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— ln reply to the letters appearing in your issue of last evening, permit me a few lines. I feel sure Mr Lethbridge has allowed his good nature to impair his memory, for lam certain that were the minutes of the extraordinary meeting of the Feilding Footbal Club, held last year— relating to the ground, — produced, the facts quoted in my first letter would be corroborated in toto, and I now challenge Mr Giesen to publish the report of that meeting_/roj» the minutes. lam under the impression that Mr Lethbridge was present at that meeting. I feel sure that -while the footballers allow their funds to remain " mighty low " (as Mr P. P. Giesen remarked they were yesterday) Mr Lethbridge will never ask for one penny in return for the time and money expended on the ground, but the footballers most certainly should net continue to impose on good nature. Regarding the epistle signed P. P. Gieseu, I need only say that as the letter— save the mark ! -was so " Giesonian" in its composition, tone, etc-, there was no neceessity to subscribe the name "P. P. Gie3en," for the public would have been fully aware of its author. However, firstly, I am not so fond of seeing my name in print as yonr correspondent/ Mr T. P. Gieson ; secondly, I am glad that the stone has hit the mark, and appealed to Mr P. P. Giesen ; thirdly, I notice in that gentlemen's effusion a total absence of any mention of anything having been done hy l}injself or his officers towards the arrauobuients made at the extraordinary meeting — referred to in the. first part of my letter; and. fourthly. £ hope that Mr P. P. Giesen, Hcu. Secretary of the Feildiug Football Club, and other officers • of the said Ulub, will wake np, gee funds \ in baud, aud don't allow them to remain "mighty low," and do give Mr

Lethbridge a little compensation for his great generosity in the way of doing ytrnr share to tbe ground. I am, etc., A Lover of the Game. Feilding, September 24th.
