A.J.C. SPRING MEETING. (Per Press Association). Sydney, Sept. 14. During the settling over the Epsom Handicap there was a good amount of wagering upon the V.R.C. Derby. Newhaven liardened down to even money, and for the Melbourne Cup was installed first favourite at 10 to 1, with 20 to 1 bar one. For the Metropolitan Rackarock was favourite, but when £1500 had been taken about Right Honourable at 100 to 15, Rackarock eased to 6 to 1. Upon calling the card later on business waa brisk, and tho closing quotations for the Metropolitan were :— IOO to 20 against Right Honourable ; 100 to 16 Rackarock ; 100 to 10 Charge ; 100 to 8 Skipper ; 100 to 8 Destiny ; 100 to 8 Nada ; 100 to 7 Hopscotch ,- 100 bo 7 to 5 fcbe others.
