Rongotea Cricket Club.

The Carnarvon Cricket Club held their annual meeting in the Rongotea Hall on Monday, September 14th. Mr J. Whisker was voted to the chair, It was resolved to change the came of the Club to " Kongotea " as the Club's correspondence went to the Carnarvon Post Office and thus caused considerable delay. The following officers were appointed : — President, Mr F. Couper ; vice-presi-dents, Messrs J. Costall, W. Davis, Ralston, C. Anderson, W. Taylor, H. Hammond, L. Toxford. Captain to be elected at each match ; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. H. Bovater ; delegates to Union, Messrs Bowater and Opie ; match com* mittee, Messrs Brouphton, Penny, Bo* water, Bishop ; general committee, Messrs Broaghtou, Penny, A'Coart, Bishop, Opie, Purnell, Bowater. t?« Resolved, That the subscription for the season be ss. It was decided to open the season on the second Saturday in October with a match Married v. Single. The secretary and treasurer's report I showed a credit balance of 10s. The batting average for the past season was won by C. H. Bowater with an average of 10 runs, find the bcwling average was, also, won by the same player with an average of Hk runs per wicket. Mr F. Tompkius promised a hall for the best bowling average lor the comiug season. The meeting closed with & vote ol thanks to Mr Tompkius and to the chair.
