Wanganui Education Board.
The Board met at 3.:50 to consider the question of urgent building requirments. Present Messrs Hanson (in the chair), Bobbins, Robs, Fry, Baker, F. Pirani, Hurley and Lethbridge. It was decided to authorise the following works to be commenced as soon as possible : — Additions — Huntervillc, Kapuni. Pihatna, Hurleyville, Matapu, Foilding. New schools — Carnarvon, Manganobo, Ngaire Blocks. School residences Birmingham, Marton, Nikau, Cheltenham. Total, £2,500. Ruahine — P. Matheson's appointment was confirmed. j Mangaweka— T. R. Bowden's resignation was accepted. Foxton — It was decided to adhere to the appointment of pupil teacher. | Carnarvon — Names tor selection of a ' teacher to be sent to Committee. Wanganui — L. J. Watkin appointed as assistant at Masterton. Longburn— G. C. Kecblo appointed cadet. Taikorea — New school to replace the building destroyed by fire. Mr Pirani moved and Mr Letbbridge seconded, " That the allowance to school committees be increased by 25 per cent." After discussion the motion was lost by five to four, Messrs, Sanson, Pirani, Ross and Lethb ridge voting for and Messrs Baker, Robbins, Fry, Hurley, and Carson against.
