(Per Press Association.) Pretoria. Sept. 1. The wife of President Kruger is in a i critical condition. , Capetown, Sept. 2. Negotiations for peace with the Mafcabele continues and several of the chiefs are said to be anxious to stop fighting. Cecil Rhodes has rejected several of the proposed conditions under which the strife should be ended and has warned the natives that they will be trapped like rabbits unless they surrender.
