More Horrible Massacres.
MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN MURDERED. (Per Press Association.) Washington, September 2. America is sending representatives to Turkey to enquire into the outrages on American subjects, and to enforce pay* tnent for their losses at Kharput and Marash. Constantinople, Sept. 2. Terrible details are given of the massacres in several portions of the city. Every male Armenian was massacred, and forty-five women and children who took refuse on the flat roofs of houses were slaughtered, and the bodies thrown into the streets. Numbers of others were outraged. In some cases the Armenians fought desperately, and 400 soldiers were killed in the attack upon the Ottoman Bank. The Bank authorities, fearing they will be charged with complicity in tbe outbreak and having since discovered a muss of dynamite under the staircase, intend to send all the Armenian officials abroad. It is believed the 400 Moslems arrested on a charge of committing excesses are really members of the Young Turkish Party. ____ — _
