o Messrs Abraham and Williams of Palmerston North report:— We have only the Palmerston sale of Friday to report upon. The entry of sheep was smaller than usual. The sale opened with the fat pens, bus bidding was dull under tbe hammer. Sufficient business was ultimately done to clear off about half, but at prices somewhat easier than last week. Hoggets were less ready of sale than last week, and good store wethers maintained tbeir value. Some useful steers were yarded, and sold freely at quotations. In fat stock cows advanced 10s per bead over late rates though the quality was barely medium. Sheep — Fat ewes, lis 6d store wethers, lis lld; empty ewes 8s lOd ; hoggets, 8s 4d to 9s ; poor do., 3s 9d. Cattle— Fat cows, L 4 17s to L 4 17s 6d ; good quality, small fat bullocks L 6 ls ; three-yoar steers L 4 5s to L 4 10s ; springing heifers, L 3 7s 6d ; emply do., L 2 8s ; Ftnall weaners 235 ; yearling steers 40s. Pigs —Porkers, 14a ; stores, 5s to 6s 6d ; breeding sows 245.
